Course Requirements

There are some basic requirements to take part in the Certificate III in Driving Operations course. You’ll need to be 18 years of age and physically capable of operating a heavy vehicle. You’ll also need a current driver’s licence (valid in Australia) and a valid Medicare number.

Course Duration

The duration of the course is 6-12 months, depending on the performance and prior knowledge of the student. This takes place in a series of regular training seminars throughout the year. Check the calendar, or contact us for more specifics on session dates and times.

USI Requirements

If you’re hoping to enrol in Driver Training Pro’s TLI31221 training, you’ll need to provide us with a valid USI. If you’re not sure what that is, you probably haven’t done any formal study in the last few years. USI, or “Unique Student Identifier”, is a number that’s explicitly associated with you and used to track the different training courses you’ve undertaken in the past. It’s a little like a tax-file number, but specifically for training. Sadly, Driver Training Pro can’t set this up for you – it’s an official piece of identification, and you need to obtain it for yourself.

Fortunately, it only takes a few minutes to get one from the USI website. Just click on the “Click here to get your USI” link to get things started.

Covid 19 Compliance

For the safety and welfare of our students, Driver Training Pro is careful to ensure full Covid safety compliance. This means we’re careful to follow all official guidelines for PPE (including hand sanitiser, gloves and masks), social distancing, and vaccination requirements.

If you are not fully vaccinated, it may be a good idea to contact us and check the vaccination requirements for the training venues involved – as many require complete vaccination and evidence to show that. These requirements are from the venue – generally according to government regulations – and are not within the power of Driver Training Pro to change.

If you find you’re ill or suffering from flu-like symptoms on the day of one of your training sessions, we ask you not to attend – but rather, contact us and notify us of your situation. Your training can generally be rescheduled to another date at no additional charge, with a valid reason.
