One of the most significant risks to be addressed when managing heavy vehicle operators is the danger of fatigue. A fatigued driver can be a danger to themselves and others, and having good practices to manage fatigue is an essential part of such a business. The Driver Training Pro TLIF0006 Administer a fatigue risk management system course provides road transport schedulers and managers/supervisors within the Transport and Logistics industry with the skills and knowledge to effectively administer a fatigue risk management system for their employees.
The TLIF0006 course develops essential skills, such as identifying and managing fatigue-related risks for heavy vehicle operators. It also covers the specifics of operating within an established fatigue risk management system, coordinating trip planning and records management, and developing and implementing policies, procedures and strategies to minimise heavy vehicle driver fatigue.
All our trainers are fully qualified, with experience in the field, and our training sessions provide an excellent, supportive environment to learn with plenty of room for questions and clarifications.
Fatigue in a heavy vehicle driver can be one of the most significant risks to a transport and logistics company. In addition to government obligations and the importance of staff health and safety, an accident involving a fatigued driver in a heavy vehicle can be disastrous for an organisation – financially and legally! Good fatigue management should be no less essential to managing a Transport and Logistics company than insurance is.
Completing Driver Training Pro’s Administer a fatigue risk management system course will grant you official accreditation in the government defined TLIF0006 Administer a fatigue risk management system training module. This is an official training module established by the National Register on Vocational Education and Training. As an official Australian RTO, Driver Training Pro is fully accredited to provide the training, and our TLIF0006 certificate is recognised in all states and territories.
To complete the Administer a fatigue risk management system training successfully, students will need to understand and show competence in the following areas:
Getting accreditation in TLIF0006 fulfils several legal and regulatory requirements for anyone managing staff who operate heavy vehicles. The training unit is required by the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and a necessary part of obtaining National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) Fatigue Management Accreditation.
The TLIF0006 course runs as a single-day training seminar over 5 hours – generally from 9am till 2pm. Make sure you arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes in advance, as the venue doors will be closed at the scheduled start time, and latecomers asked to reschedule.
Once you’ve fulfilled all the training requirements and completed the course, you’ll receive your nationally recognised TLIF0006 Administer a fatigue risk management system certificate. This will be emailed to you electronically within 24 hours of completing your course – and on the same day where possible! The certificate is provided as a digital PDF file, able to be printed, stored electronically, or sent through to prospective employers as you need. It’s also freely available for download from your online student portal, should you find yourself accidentally deleting or misplacing the file.
To take part in Driver Training Pro’s TLIF0006 training, you’ll need to provide your USI number. If you’ve undertaken any formal training since 2015, you’ll already have one of these – it’s just a matter of tracking it down and providing it to us before your course.
If you’re not familiar with the term, a USI – or “Unique Student Identifier” – is a personal identification number rather like a tax file number. It’s specific to you, and it allows you to get recognition for all the formal training you’ve undertaken. It’s also quite easy to obtain and typically only takes 5-10 minutes. You just need to head to the USI website and use the “Click here to get your USI” link to start the process.
At Driver Training Pro, the health and safety of our students is one of our top priorities. For this reason, we make sure all our training courses are run in a fully Covid compliant manner. Our training courses follow all current government regulations and safety standards, including social distancing, PPE (such as gloves, masks and hand sanitiser), and vaccination. Students must follow all requirements – both written and given verbally by the trainer – for Covid-19 safety, or they may be asked to leave.
If on the day of your training you develop Covid-like symptoms – or are otherwise feeling unwell – then we ask that you do not attend. Instead, you can contact our office to let us know the situation, and we can reschedule you to a different training date – generally free of charge.
If you are not entirely up to date with Covid 19 vaccinations, you should check the vaccination requirements of your training venue. Many public venues (including some used by Driver Training Pro) now require all patrons to be fully vaccinated – often according to government regulations. This is a venue requirement and entirely outside of the control of Driver Training Pro.
